Rating: 5 out of 5 - 11.28.2004 by Dima She's got a new fan I am a sucker for artsy chicks with bluesy voices - and Kate is exactly that. The stripped down acoustic set was awesome, and the lead singer displayed some major pipes and excellent stage presence. The songs were a very appealing (to me anyway) blend of Janis, Fiona Apple and Evanescence. If it sounds good, well, that's because it was. This band kicked ass, with songs ranging from light, dancy blues to to grunge-driven moody ballads. I am seeing the Kate Dovelyn band again! Rating: 4 out of 5 - 12.10.2004 by Alan good if stick with her own stuff i enjoyed a couple of the songs she wrote. for a 19 year-old, she's hell of alot more talented than the popular teenie bopping singers who can't event spell the words in the songs written for them by some other writer. kate is horrible at covering though, maybe just for that one cover song that she did. still, she's talented, good voice, attractive, well-dressed (with the exception of her bra). |
